Phoenix Running & Runbelievable Challenges are inviting you to join us for something completely new and totally unique. We're going to partner up yet again and this time we're going to join two of your favourite Kent running venues together and have not one, but two start lines, and, not one but two finish lines!
We're going to send you into....... 'No Man's Land'!
Sounds interesting, right? Then read on.....Phoenix Running will be based at the Cyclopark in Gravesend whilst Runbelievable Challenges will be based at the very beautiful Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve. Many of our regular runners will be familiar with both these venues and we'll be located in the usual spots with good toilet and parking facilities and our epic aid stations both packed full of goodies. These two venues are only about 6 miles or 10k apart if you link up the usual run routes from either end and so that's exactly what we're going to do. A week before the event you'll be allocated your start venue with half of our runners beginning at the Cyclopark and the other half from Ranscombe Nature Reserve. We'll synchronise the start times and away you go. For the faster runners we're going to have some enemy flags positioned at exactly half way in 'no man's land' for you to 'capture' and take to the opposite aid station. For those who fancy a more leisurely jaunt, there will be 'secret' missions with hidden items at the opposite aid station for you to locate and return with. There will be 'secret whispers' to deliver with spot prizes and free entries for the most accurate. There will be lots for everyone and there will, of course, be a huge amount of fun and camaraderie and even some running too.
This is one of our timed events based around a 10k 'one-way' lap. You can chose to run 'one-way' by starting at one location and finishing at the other, or perhaps you fancy a return trip for a half marathon, or simply keep on going to marathon distance and beyond. You can complete as many, or as few, laps as you like of a beautiful trail route between Cyclopark, Jeskyns and Ranscombe. We welcome all abilities of runner - complete one lap in either direction and you're both a finisher and a winner in our eyes, or keep going and see how far you can get in the full 7 hour time limit and everyone gets the fabulous bespoke finishers' medal.
Places will be strictly limited so don't leave it too late to enter.
Minimum distance is 6.6 miles or as far as you can go in 7 hours.
Undulating off-road trail.

You will receive,
1) A really special finishers medal, custom made and designed, not a generic one
2) Well stocked base camp at either end with plenty of nibbles and refreshments for during and post race replenishment.
Where do I park?
Parking at both locations are right next to your start points so no need for a hike to the start line.
When do I get my race number?
You'll pick this up on race day from your allocated race base camp.
Are there time limits?
Yes, seven hours to run as many laps as you can. You can finish at any time within the time limit and your final distance will be recorded along with your finishing time. Only complete laps within the 7 hours will be recorded. This event does have a hard 7 hour cut off due to park closing times at the Cyclopark. Any runner completing over 26 miles will have completed marathon distance and will count as a marathon finish for the purposes of the 100 Marathon Club, if you complete over 27 miles then you've completed an ultra.
As long as you finish one leg from point to point you'll receive an official finish time and medal.
How are laps counted?
Depending on numbers we will either manually count laps or we'll dish out lap counting cards. Attach this to yourself with a safety pin or cable tie. At the end of each loop get this punched through by one of the hole puncher people. So basically at the end of each lap, get your card punched, or ring the bell!
You'll have to tell us when you're finished, not the other way around. As it's a timed event you choose when you finish.
We'll have an “official finishers bell” for this purpose, when you're done for the day ring the bell.
Ranscombe: There are toilets at base camp now courtesy of our friends at SVN which are self compostable, this means only THREE things are to go down them. The three P's - Pee, Poo and Paper. Anything else mustn't go down there and be deposited in the bins/bags provided.
CYCLOPARK: There are toilets in the reception area of the cyclopark and in the shower rooms located near the gym area.
Do you have secure baggage facilities
No. But you're free to leave bags at the start/finish. There will always be someone around but we can't guarantee their security, in the event of rain we can't guarantee things won't get wet.
Can I leave my own drinks/food at the Base camp?
Yes no problem at all, however we encourage you to leave these at your bag or car to save space at the aid station.
Trail shoes? Road Shoes?
Depends on how the weather has been? If it has recently been wet then I would go trails as a fair amount is on trail but if it has been dry then road shoes will be fine. Basically your choice.
Is the course closed to the public?
No.
Can I use an ipod or mp3 player on the course?
Yes. Though please be aware that you are running on public footpaths with the general public so make sure that you pay attention to cyclists, people, children on bikes, wildlife and so on.
